How are you feeling?

The best today is tomorrow

Have you ever experienced a day when you feel as if you have not achieved anything and you feel stressed and sapped of all your energy? Of course you have we all do from time to time.

If today has been a day like this, instead of allowing yourself to be negative and downhearted, just let it go. Instead decide to take steps today to make tomorrow your best day. We all have an opportunity to make each day the best day and one of the most effective ways is to plan ahead and make a to do list. This will give you a sense of self-empowerment, it will help you achieve more and make best use of your time.

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” Eleanor Roosevelt

Here are a few suggestions on how you can today make tomorrow your best day.

Visualise a positive tomorrow

Visualisation is about aligning the mind and body in order to achieve your goals. It is about training your body to automatically act in the way that your mind has trained it. Relax in a quiet space where you can be calm and uninterrupted. Let your imagination create a clear picture of a positive tomorrow where you see yourself achieving the things you want and feeling it is real and already happened in your life. Enjoy the experience and you will notice a positive shift in your attitude towards the things you want. This positive attitude along with a relaxed mind will mean you are more likely to make them happen. You can even bring this further to life in our time machine.

Write down the things you would like to do. Be specific with your goals

No matter how big your goals are break them into small achievable steps. It is the least stressful way to help you move forward when you are stuck. Take baby steps to reach your goals is a gentle and thoughtful approach that is both effective and rewarding. Each small step achieved is a move forward and an accomplishment in itself. Taking baby steps also enables you to be flexible if you have to deviate from your original goal. Sometimes these create opportunities that lead to more exciting places.

Go for a walk

Walking in nature is restorative and rejuvenating. Just being in the open air and noticing and experiencing the sounds, the smell and taste of the landscape around you allows you to think clearly, creatively and to problem solve. You will return refreshed and able to apply renewed energy to your tasks.

Focus on completing one important task

Prioritise your tasks and aim to complete an important one. Feel a sense of achievement and accomplishment no matter how large or small the task is.

Play music you love

Change your mood and how you feel by playing upbeat music you love. When you experience an emotion while listening to music your brain is flooded with a chemical designed to make you feel good.

Get rid of negative thoughts, habits and actions

Negativity drains us of energy and saps our motivation. Identify what is negative in your life and eliminate it. Stop being judgmental and over critical of yourself or continually comparing yourself to others. Use your energy in positive rather than in negative ways. If you struggle with this watch our Video Moods series to help you overcome your obstacles.

Do things that matter to you. Things you love.

Whatever your passion is take some time out to pursue the activities you love. Maybe you haven’t done this for a while. Acknowledge the importance of the activity to you whatever it is and make time to enjoy it. It may mean spending time with someone you love or care for or time on yourself.

Don’t let your past experiences hinder your future

Be kind to yourself and learn from your mistakes or explore better ways to do things. Expand you thinking and try new ideas. Don’t keep doing things the same way if they don’t work for you. Try something new and push your boundaries a little. You can do more than you than you think.

What are you going to do to make tomorrow your best day?

Start by telling yourself today that tomorrow will be amazing.
